He has been pioneering the application of computer simulation technology in Indian industry since 25 years.
Shamasundar has researched on constitutive modeling of porous media and applied to the compaction and sintering of high-temperature materials, steel alloys, and carbide materials. His research interests include non-linear applications in FEM, fatigue and fracture simulations, multi-body dynamics and multi-disciplinary optimization and manufacturing simulation. Shamasundar has published more than 45 research papers.
